2023 Saturday — This is Doodle

Doodle belongs to our daughter and has been part of the family since the early 1990s. Our former neighbor across the street, Shirley, was a bird breeder. So Doodle was born, I mean hatched, and nurtured right in this neighborhood. I believe she was about a year old when Shirley gave Doodle to Deed.

So Doodle is here now with our daughter and our pups are adjusting to this very different family member. Chloe is okay with her and even curious. But poor Mitzi, who used to be quite all right with Doodle, is now afraid of her because Doodle sings and talks and sometimes squawks and Mitzi is almost deaf, but not quite, so she hears Doodle and it scares her.

We spent most of this day still cleaning-up and washing loads and loads of towels that were used to sop-up yesterday’s flood in both our bathrooms. What a mess! This was not on my agenda—we’re in SoCal to get ready for a tax appointment and several medical appointments; this flood mess has been time consuming.
