James A Wright

Our decent burst of weather continues although not for long if the weather forecast is to be believed.
The sands of Baleshare continue to rise and fall. The black lump in this image is one end of the James A Wright,,a decent sized sailing ship that wrecked on the beach here in the 19th century.
At times, one can see the length of the whole keel plus much of the side planking. Today there was just this and the matching post at the other end and still in the sea here.
A local story is that the stairs from the wreck were used as the staircase in a local building and still remain in that house to this day.
