Eye of the beholder

I’m sitting here, bedraggled, with my muffler
of jewel-coloured fur around my throat,
and hoping that my Gothic painted talons
look OK with my iridescent coat.

I know I’m not a fashion-savvy pigeon;
appearance isn’t everything you see –
wrencottage doesn’t seem to think me ugly
which is why she’s often photographing me!
