Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

What a gorgeous day - I had expected snow, but none arrived. There wasn’t even a wind. Archie and I took a walk around the Links. There was a group of people filming something - we sat and watched for a while, but nothing much happened. There must be a lot of waiting around on film sets.

In the afternoon JR and Archie walked to Waitrose to get some more burrata for a delicious entree - marinated grilled grapes, with fennel seeds dressing and burrata. (Extra) Christine and Elizabeth, who both had to cancel coming yesterday for Archie’s birthday, were coming today. Same menu, as there was enough left over, with a few tweaks. Actually, it was really nice, as Dougal had fully recovered from his sickness (to do with a dead seal at the beach… don’t ask) and could come.

What a wee character he is. I was so pleased with Archie -from hating Dougal a year ago, he now can put up with him getting close. Very close. Good boy, Arch.

Archie was deliriously happy that Elizabeth came for a bonus mid-week visit.

Snow tomorrow, I think…
