Glorious!

Today almost had an air of summer in it. Even the bright nip in the air just seemed to jump and smile and announce new life!

Being that I was off again (to take mom to her hospital appointment), I walked both dogs from mom’s down to Starbucks to get something for breakfast, and walked back up.
I met Easter and Norman along the way and stopped for a wee chat.

Dropped Scout back home on our way to the hospital. Felt myself getting a bit anxious while mom was in being examined. Then she had to go for bloods.
The nurse there was thriving on being very important and very busy and was incapable of seeing one job through thoroughly for making sure that people knew that she was very important and very busy. I was not impressed with the way she ‘cared’ for her elderly patient. After she had taken the blood sample and left mom to struggle off the seat herself while she ‘bustiers off to the next job, mom came back to me with blood dripping down her arm. When I asked the very important and busy nurse if she had a cloth that I could mop mom up with she proceeded to blame mom for “not putting pressure on it”. Sorry….but you don’t blame an elderly patient for not managing to hold the swab on their arm while they struggle to get out the seat because you can’t be bothered to take a moment and actually care.

We then had to go to the doctors surgery because her sample that she had sent in last week hadn’t arrived at the hospital and of course it’s “the patient’s job to chase the doctor about that!
And then we were told that it might just not have been processed yet or “it could just be lost…they quite often just get lost”!!!!!!!

All in all I am overwhelmed by how broken our national health service is. There is no communication and absolutely no joined up thinking!!!! Grrrr!

Got mom back home for a cuppa and a rest. I was feeling quite claustrophobic so was happy that Cathie wanted to join me as I took both dogs for a run at the res.

It was so lovely. And both dogs were in their element. They just ran. In water. Out water. Over clumps. Under bridges. Near. Far. Happy, happy dogs.

I dropped Cathie and scout back home while I picked up fish n chips for mom, Stewart and myself.

Then finally home.
