Back to the old walk again
Various people had reported that since our new walk last week the Keighley Road route into St Ives had remained open as has the parking area. It’s early days but we decided to return to our usual walk this morning and see how things were.
As you can see we were accompanied by a light covering of snow which started last night and continued through the walk.
I was greeted by these bright yellow signs warning of the tree felling taking place. That and the machinery were not in evidence but maybe we were just too early for them!
We walked up the path from here and there was a little evidence of some activity near the path as a continuation of what they have already started by Coppice Pond but that was it.
A pleasant walk made pretty by the snow which got heavier after I returned home for breakfast. It has snowed all morning and in fact it has just stopped round about the time the weatherman said on the lunchtime forecast it would be at it’s worst. We shall see.
Many schools have closed early and our church luncheon club has been cancelled.
I’m out tonight doing front of house for the opening night of our village pantomime so I hope the forecast for blizzards doesn’t come to fruition.
