The Herd

Or part of The Herd. I don't know what type of cattle these are but they have a very attractive coat - the calves always seem to be brown. Must be dominant daddy. I was suitably situated safely behind a strong fence and a very large beech tree. It wouldn't be the first time me and the dog ,then a trailhound, had climbed a tree in order to evade rampaging cows. I knew trailhounds were nimble but didn't think they were that good at tree climbing - I think it was a first. These cows kept their distance except for one stroppy mum who constantly pushed her calf out of the way and looked at me challengingly. All in all not a bad morning - misty but warm.
