Drama In The Sky

I saw the clouds building and decided a wide angle might work. Decided on the 18mm because it's light. My 8-16 is quite bulky and it's still cold outside. We're forecast a storm tomorrow and wondered whether this was a warning sign.

The lake continues to melt and there are even signs of algae blooming in the pools of water. Looks incongruous with the ice.

Tricky to process because the left third is so light compared to the dark clouds overhead. The other thing is how blue the dark clouds are recorded by the camera. I'm not sure I saw them so blue and warmed them a touch.

Then the cranes gave me a start with their cry. They were feeding nearby, but I couldn't zoom in enough for a shot and the light was not great anyway.
