In The Pink

I've gone for another colourful image today as the weather still hasn't improved with the continuation of the grey pall. It feels a bit dispiriting as it felt like Spring was on its way only a couple of days ago but we've now had a forecast of temperatures dropping much further with icy winds form the Arctic and even the possibility of some snow.
This shot was taken on the outside terrace of our local hostelry, The Chequers, where I spotted these pink magnolia buds peeking through from the house next door and that they were complemented by the colour of the currently dormant table umbrella in the foreground. I really hope those buds survive the coming cold spell.
Unfortunately, our afternoon ended on a bit of a downer as my brother dropped his camera and badly damaged his lens. He was absolutely gutted but by the time we got home he'd managed to rationalise it in that his camera is o.k, it was actually a fairly old lens and he was later able to source a second hand one online at a reasonable price (the cost of repair for his existing lens would be more than a new one). I'm sure he'll start to feel better about it when his new lens arrives next week.
