..noticed today on the vine in the conservatory . It is about the same time as last year and as a result I expect we will be eating ripe black grapes in early August, and wondering what to do with the surplus !

It is , however , always a very welcome sign of the season beginning to turn, especially given the cold today and the forecast for snow tomorrow, though none appeared yesterday despite expectations.
