A birthday

In the summer heat we ventured to one of my favourite urban parks for a gathering of my extended tribe to celebrate a great nephew turning 12 today.

This is him, maybe looking into his future. 

It was a terrific day. Somehow, once I'm with them all, I feel calm and safe.
