Il Pleut
So it rained today, awful. Always seems to rain whenever new people arrive, makes Les Sables seem really drab without the sun...hope that she doesn't get the wrong impression. Talking of new arrivals...this is Kirsty. She is technically a new arrival as she just arrived today, but this is her fourth season working for Carisma! You should have seen the big boss' face when she arrived with this colour hair! Turns out it is a wash-out dye, and she did it while drunk with Richard in mind! So Kirsty is heading off for her second season at Messange, and goes off later this week, but after me. She studies English literature and Language at university (somewhere in Scotland, I've forgotten where!), so we ended up having many interesting conversations about these topics! I wish I could have taken a picture of Richard's face though...
So today was not spent outside, today we spent it with our big boss, Richard...training to be sent to manage our own sites. Kind of more interesting that cleaning, not going to lie! Very easy day, many cups of tea were drunk, many notes were taken, and games were played to "prepare" us for running Kid's Club. You haven't seen anything until you have seen eight fully grown adults running around a playground playing 'Knights, Mounts and Cavaliers'! We also had to say goodbye to the boys, as Adam and Louis headed off to Jard...this is going to be me on Thursday! Not sure I'm ready to go yet!
Little quote from Indiana for you today, wonder whether this is what the English clients coming here are going to be like:-
Les Européens, incessamment agités, sont obligés de se bâtir des solitudes. Plus notre coeur est tumultueux et bruyant, plus le calme et le silence nous attirent.
Europeans, constantly agitated, are forced to construct isolation. The more our hearts are turbulent and noisy, the more peace and quiet attract us.
