The Cunning Fir Cone Plan

As suggested by Matthew Parris in The Times for home made firelighters. His suggestion is to pop a fir cone into each section of an old egg box. Then add some melted down wax from "all those old candle ends you have lying around". Et voila! MP reports that he made 130 last weekend. Finding fir cones is pretty easy, as is egg boxes (I will start saving/ collecting). The weakest link in this cunning plan is that I do not have loads (in fact any) old candle ends lying around!
