Breakfast At Tiffany’s

Well, breakfast at Bob and Bert’s in Kendal. But what they charged for a couple of Breakfast Brioches, some Hash Browns and two cups of tea, made me feel like I was shopping at Tiffany’s! It was nice enough, but I don’t think we’ll be rushing to repeat the experience any time soon. We only went there because I was starving this morning, and wanted something a bit more substantial than my usual breakfast of tea and toast.
It’s the play that is to blame. To get to the theatre on time, I need to have tea no later than 5pm. But at that hour I’m not really hungry, and I don’t want to go on stage with a full stomach anyway. So I only have a very light tea and then possibly something extra when I get home. But I’m trying very hard not to stuff my face late at night as it’s not good for the digestion - or the waistline. Not surprising that after six days on the trot of that regime, I was somewhat ravenous when I awoke today.
Last show of this week’s run today and then we get three days off. I think we’ll all be glad of the rest, but I’d like to think we can go out on a high this evening. Last night was a little scrappy and a few good lines were lost. I’ve noticed this before - after the tension of opening night, people tend to relax a bit on the second night and that can lead to mistakes creeping in.
Mrs C has gone out for the afternoon so I’m going to take advantage of having the house to myself and just chill out listening to Sounds of the 70s on BBC R2 before heading off down the M6 to Lancaster this evening.
