Plaza Mayor, Madrid

We went to El Rastro market for the first time this morning. Can’t believe we haven’t been here in all our visits to Madrid! I bought a couple of little things (to wear) and would have been very tempted by a couple of other things for the house if we lived in Madrid!

Back to Plaza Mayor and lunch in El Soportal, before catching the train back to Barcelona. Delighted to find a new Mexican place on Calle Numancia, 5 mins from our house! We popped our heads in and chatted to the young Spanish owner, who trained in Hoffmann’s Cookery School in Barcelona, fell in love with Mexican food and did up this old Spanish bar. It was difficult not to get caught up in his enthusiasm!
