Lockdown Plant

J has been in control of watering our houseplants, so I am having to remember to do it, especially after almost losing the peace lily. I’ve had to cut the dead leaves off to see if it might regenerate - and it is doing. Phew ! Watering this morning got me thinking about a blip for today.

During the first lockdown of 2020 I investigated how to grow an avocado plant from the rather large seed. There were some useful tips on how to succeed when I investigated online. So for once having extracted the tasty pulp to eat I did not discard the large seed but prepared it for action.

Top right (July 2020) it’s sitting in its glass and is rooting. Bottom right (August 2020) a shoot has emerged, complete with little leaflets. And to the left , the plant today - I think it may need repotting at some stage.
