STONECHAT

Whoever is doing the renovations next door was making a terrible din today which we couldn't identify until we saw them depositing piles of dusty bricks in the skip outside and realised they must have taken down an internal wall. That would explain the RSJs that arrived a week or so ago, or I hope it does otherwise they're going to be in big trouble and so might we! Anyway, B retreated to his (soundproofed) studio and I took myself out for some (very) fresh air and a bit of birding. Here's a stonechat helpfully perching on a rush and extra is a shoveller drake with his lovely shovelly bill.

I hope they've finished the demolition for the day next door. They often come back at about 8pm and carry on working until about 10.30pm, but usually just painting or something relatively quiet.
