UPHILL CLIMB
This time last year, my front garden was a messy construction zone.
Now, a year later, it is completed and doing very well. The plants are
enjoying our Atmospheric Rivers; & all the rain has brought out the colors in the stones. My walking partner gave me the large blue pot, in the center,
which sparkles, after receiving a good soaking.
Last year (2022) was a year of severe drought, with strict restraints on
outside watering, so I lost 15 plants during the hottest part of the
summer. The new drip irrigation system worked well & most of the other plants hung in there & are now thriving.
The hottest part of the garden is in front of the fountain (See EXTRA).
Those plants seem to do very well all year. It may turn into a jungle,
after all the rain we have had.
My goal for this front garden was to have an interesting landscape with colorful, drought tolerant plants. Getting there has been an UPHILL
CLIMB, but today, that goal seems possible.
