Mortsafe

A mortsafe is a type of metal cage or barrier that was historically used to protect newly-buried bodies from being stolen by body snatchers in the 18th and 19th centuries. This one has had its day. It's in a lovely little hillside graveyard.


The extra is of a goodbye present from a job I left exactly 20 years ago. It came in a pot which has been replaced at least twice. Someone said the box tree would either die or thrive in the ground, but actually it's just done something in between.
