Teme Weirs Trust

My walk today was a revisit to one of my recent favourites, along the River Teme at Ludlow.

This walk follows the river from Dinham Bridge down to Ludford Bridge and takes in three of the most historically important weirs on the River Teme.

The work in restoring and preserving these wonderful structures is complete but the Teme Weirs Trust is a charitable organisation principally established to raise funds for the maintenance of the weirs.

This view from the path below Whitecliffe Common shows the extent of Mill Street Weir, the river is in spate after much rain. It receives water from many smaller tributaries, one of these is the River Onny which I have blipped on numerous occasions.

The concrete structure in the immediate foreground is a Salmon ladder. I expect to be visiting and blipping this in more detail, hopefully with a leaping Salmon or two.

Below is a link to a previous blip which shows a view of Dinham Weir, handsomely placed below the bastion of Ludlow Castle.

Weather today has been grey, cool and very wet. Not great for photography.
