Ladies in waiting

I walked down the postbox this morning to post the cards I'd made for Mother's Day. I probably should have posted them sooner but I hadn't quite finished them until this morning. On the walk down the tractor (extra photo) was parked at the bottom of the hill and the farmer was unloading the bales from it. It's a sharp turn and a steep incline down to the farm yard and more than once there has been bales strewn across the road or a tipped up trailer! When I walked back up I took the main photo of the pregnant ewes enjoying the fresh delivery. In a very short time we will have bouncy lambs in the field again.
Today was not such a good one on the telephone front! My struggling nephew rang to say that he has a date for his ankle operation, which should of course be good news, especially as it is sooner rather than later. Unfortunately this does not give him time to sort his finances, or lack of them before the date. He easily gets himself in a pickle with money and although mum and I have helped and got him on the straight and narrow, Christmas came along and wrecked all our good work! I have no idea how he is going to survive months without being able to work and unfortunately he thinks I have all the answers! Then my phone call with mum was upsetting as she had been unwell through the night, with her stomach which causes her constant distress.  She had therefore not been out all day, not gone down to lunch and eaten very little. She had not called me either. Luckily one of the carers insisted she went on the doctor's list for a visit. Mum has no faith in the doctor. I told her to make a list of everything that is causing her pain. Hopefully she will do this as a carer will be present, as they usually are, and will help her explain and hear anything the doctor says that mum misses.
I had a lovely phone call from Charlotte as I sat down with a cuppa after my "mum" call. That certainly improved my evening.
Grateful:
For lovely views, even if just going to the postbox
For the thought of newly born lambs
For a lovely daughter who can always make me laugh
