High Views At Low Tide, Whitstable
Yet another train strike today that I've had to take as holiday so I've now decided to embrace it and bloody well make sure I enjoy it as much as possible. As we hadn't been to Whitstable for a while, and the weather looked reasonably favourable, we decided to go there. Unfortunately, as we got nearer we were sent on an elongated diversion due to roadworks so it took us longer to arrive at our destination than usual. Of course, as soon as we parked the car we headed for the Old Neptune pub for a pint sitting outside looking at the sea. The breeze was stiff and on the bracing side but we partook of it all the same. The tide was at it's lowest so the oyster beds were clearly visible. The main shot is looking back up the beach to this rather beautiful row of houses right by the sea wall (the Old Neptune is on the very far left of the image).
The extra is a high tide marker right next to one of the groynes that cut across the beach. We ended our trip with a bag of chips sitting just below the sea wall. Simple but joyous none the less!
