A Surprise Lunch Guest

........... we haven’t seen a pheasant in our garden for ages. We used to see them quite often and now I think about it, I haven’t seen very many in the fields recently either.
They are raised locally and released for the shooting community ( a wicked practice that I hate ), so even when we had them visit the garden regularly it was only for a few months until the shooting season started.
Then one year we had the same one visiting for at least two years ( he must have been good at keeping his head down ) .......... one time, he even brought his harem of three females with him for a meal, lol ;-))

Anyway, it was lovely to see this handsome chap. He must have been very hungry because he gobbled up the food on offer for at least ten minutes before wandering off to investigate the garden. When I looked out about half an hour later he had found himself a nice sheltered spot to take an afternoon nap and digest his large lunch ( see extra ).

I dodged the showers and went for a walk and spotted the second extra, some bluebells starting to bloom - a shame they were the Spanish ones but still nice to see them ;-)
