The Arrival Of The Volunteers.

Hill of Tarvit Mansionhouse opens to visitors on April 1. Before the opening there is a briefing meetings foe volunteers both experienced and the new recruits.

The meeting lasted for some two hours and topics covered the House, The Collection, The Gardens, Kingarrock Golf Course and new developments which include the restoration of the kitchen garden and the uncovering of the curling rink.

All in all a very positive meeting which finished with ‘cakes and coffee’.

Of course there was the mandatory fire alarm drill and the evacuation of visitors, staff and the volunteers.  The main responsibility for making sure the building is cleared falls on the volunteers as they are spread throughout the house when visitors are present.

It all went according to plan and everyone assembled in the designated area which is to the west of Mrs Sharp’s garden. This is shown in the extra photo.
