Can you also hear the woodpeckers?
It was a day of mixed weather, rain one minute and then sunshine and blue skies the next. We managed to walk Xena between the showers so remained dry. She had a very muddy walk and met so many other Vizslas today, it was a lot of fun for her and they love to play with their own breed.
Gavin and I popped into the village to get a few things and then decided to have a light lunch at the vegan café, which was delicious.
I am now preparing supper, as the boys are coming home for Mothering Sunday which is tomorrow, and also to celebrate Luke's birthday which is on Monday. I say the boys but actually it is only two boys and a girl! Adam returns today from a week's skiing with friends in France where they had some great snow, so he is coming home from the airport. Luke and Meriel are coming home after watching the rugby match - but due to train strikes yet again there are no trains running, so they asked Adam to go via London to fetch them on his way home. Tommy finished his penultimate term on Thursday and is away in Warsaw on a college rugby tour - a tour where no rugby is played, instead it's a celebration of their teamwork on the rugby pitch this year. He has been working so hard I am pleased he is having a few days of crazy fun as when he returns on Monday it is back to studying as he writes his final exams in a couple of weeks time, the engineers' exams are much earlier than other faculties at the university.
