A foggy day, so not good for taking photos, or doing anything that I had thought about doing.
I went to Kent to get some potting soil this morning. I have some houseplants that need to be repotted soon. Then a local, family owned garden center that announced they were closing last fall was selling off their supply of bales of potting soil. Since I do quite a few planters for my clients, I decided to get a couple of bales. Drove home along the 207, hoping to see a few birds. I did see some Eurasian green winged teals which are rare for this area. It was difficult to get good photos of them, they were too far away. I could see the horizontal white stripe on them, instead of the vertical one.
I stopped to get some groceries on the way home and forgot to buy cheese. I needed some to make my supper, so went back out this afternoon to get it, and took a drive out to Eastern Passage. I was going to walk out to Hartlen Point, but they have started some construction there and a security guard was sitting there in his car, so I turned around and left. I did find a spot to pull over to the side of the road to take this photo.
One thing about foggy days in March, it makes the snow disappear.
In my FB memories today, eight years ago, I and everyone else was posting photos of a winter storm. 2015 was a winter I do not want to experience again. It started snowing near the end of January, and we had 2 storms a week for the next month. And not just a few cm each time either. By the time the March storm hit there was about 3 feet of snow in the ground in most places. That storm added another 2 feet. My front walkway was like walking thru a tunnel. I could barely toss that latest snow up and over the top of the snowbanks on both sides of the walk. There was a magnolia in front of my living room window, it was about 7 - 8 feet tall. I cold see the top 2 feet of it, the rest was buried. I couldn't get to the almost buried birdfeeders to fill them, so would put some seed on a pie plate and sit it on top of the snow.
