Pops

On historic Route 66, in Arcadia, Oklahoma is Pops, a Soda Ranch, where they serve fuel, food and over 500 flavors of soda pop.

We had an early dinner there tonight with Eli and his parents and it was hoppin' and fizzin'. People of all ages, many of them on motorcycles, standing in line to get their favorite soda, eating dinner, fueling their cars, enjoying the 90 degree weather.

In front of the building sets a 66-foot steel soda bottle sculpture complete with a straw, weighing over 4 tons. At night it's lit with a dazzling display of LED lights.

Arcadia which means "land of peace and tranquility" is located in the Deep-Fork valley northeast of Oklahoma City. It's a pretty drive, with a large cornfield on the opposite corner. Very different than the Route 66, the Mother Road of "The Grapes of Wrath" and the dust bowl days of the 1930's.
