Seed potatoes
With the milder weather settling in, I thought I should plant out my seed potatoes. They'll probably get hit by late frosts but they always recover and last year, waiting until April was a bad move with the hot weather we had in late spring/summer and the harvest wasn't great.
I planted 16 early seed potatoes (Foremost, Purple Majesty and Charlotte) in the beds at the back of the plot and 8 maincrops (Pink Fir Apple and Red Duke of York) as a row at the front, in front of the bean tunnel. I hope this will be a good year, nothing beats the taste of homegrown tatties!
Correction: Red Duke of York are earlies and Purple Majesty maincrops. I'd mixed them up in the chitting process.
