UNESCO site

Did the old tourist trap thing and took a ferry to an island just 20 mins away from Helsinki. There is a military fort there and some sort of military museum (didn’t venture in). Lots of cafes and a population of about 800 people. In the middle of the island is a big lighthouse but I couldn’t see the light flashing. There’s an old submarine on the ground which I’ve been told is open in the summer.

The blip is taken from inside the many tunnels that run underground or are located slightly hidden in the fortifications.

The boat ride was great as the vessel didn’t rock to the side and I stood outside on the journey in both directions watching the boat move through the ice floating on the top of the water. The cold blasts of air on my face, especially on the journey back were something else! It’s definitely the big melting season here!
