Blencathra from Threlkeld

We walked to Threlkeld from Keswick along the newly created Threlkeld - Keswick rail trail. The route has appeared on blip several times. We thought it is a magnificent example of a multi use trail through some fine scenery, accessible to pretty much anyone.

Blencathra was particularly imposing, providing an epic backdrop to many cottages. It’s not a particularly good photo or one that shows the mountain in a different light. It’s just a photo of this rather special mountain.

True to form we didn’t always stay of the trail . We detoured a little through Brundleholme Woods taking us away from the well used routes that included more mature gentlemen one on his scooters and another not looking too steady on inline skates.

For the second time in 12 hours we called in at the Threlkeld Village Hall. Last night to watch a concert and today for lunch . What a marvellous facility the Hall is.
