Barmouth on a windy day
A good hour away along lovely windy roads, some along lake Bala and along the estuary of the Mawddach river we came to Barmouth! Plenty of room to park! I like the places out of season! Few people and you can choose where you want to go! Started with a hot chocolate in a cafe. Then we went for a walk to the end of the jetty with a red flag flying! It was very windy! Looking over to the other side of the Mawddach river, the hills were nearly hidden by mist, but on ours it was ok and later sunny! But very windy!
A pub for lunch and then we had an ice-cream! A lovely little shop with what felt like 101 different choices! I had a cone with rum and raisin ! Delicious! It’s been ages since I sat on a bench outside on the promenade, eating ice-cream! The sun was out! The gulls flying by and at one point two jets flew past very noisily , making us all jump! Then we all headed back to our Stable cottage so that they could see the place!
Extra : view of mountain as we were on our way to Barmouth! Anyone recognise it?
Em and her dad walking in front! Sand being whipped up by wind! Tomorrow is D’s birthday!
