The Whalers Arms

A reference to Māori Lane led to a website about the history of Laneways of The Rocks and a wander around an area usually avoided on the grounds of being “touristy”. There were a dozen or so lanes, down narrow passages, up sets of stairs and cutting through The Big Dig archeological site.

A mesh screen printed with the outline of the former Whalers Arms shields the dig site on one side.

Extra: Sydney Harbour YHA, built over the site.

Have a great weekend everyone!
