Ad Gefrin
This afternoon MrM and I, together with #Mouldy, took advantage of our residents' invitation to look round Ad Gefrin, the Anglo-Saxon Museum and Whisky Distillery, before it opens to the general public on Saturday.
It really is a fabulous place, with some stunningly beautiful architecture (extras). An immersive audio visual experience centres on the Anglo-Saxon Royal Court of Ad Gefrin which was near to Yeavering Bell - the Hill of the Goats. The museum is small but well-worth a visit, with some wonderful Anglo-Saxon artefacts on show. Before leaving we also sampled tea and cake in the Bistro, and browsed around the shop (could have spent a fortune!).
Unfortunately, we didn't go on the distillery tour. Next time, perhaps?!
