Nuts

The crazy high life that is Hay on Wye. Tonight was the Hay Festival stewards induction evening. It was great to catch up with old friends. It is the same guys that come every year. Some from America and Germany just to volunteer at the festival. The rest of us are locals. There are lots of volunteers. The programme is always brilliant. Authors, politicians, music, entertainment. I cannot believe the variety of people we see. Ian Drury was awesome, as was Stephen Hawking ( yes THE Stephen Hawking) David Attenborough and Eddy Izzard , to name but a few. Haven't looked at the programme this year to see who is on.
There is also a great programme for local schools before the festival kicks off big style and this year we have Charles and Camilla visiting.
The meeting meant I was late for my scrabble evening with the girls. Radical, I know, but that's the way we roll here. I lost, came third. Partly due to rubbish letters , the rest due to incompetence. Lovely evening though. Roll on Thursday.
