Our front driveway

Just over a week ago, after a heavy downpour, the sewer which runs under our drive blocked up.
It then backed up and large quantities of the pipes contents spread over our drive and down the side of the house. I will not go into detail about what it was like.

United utilities who are responsible for sewers and drains in our area, were very good. They came with lots of equipment, lifted the covers and cleared the blockage.
They then put a camera down and found the a section of the pipe had collapsed.

The pipes are 57 years old and it might have been the result of heavy vehicles turning round on our drive.

Today the follow up team arrived, took up the paving and replaced a lengyh of pipe.

Now we wait for the third team tocome to restore our driveway.

Is there anything good about all this ? Yes. It does not cost us anything.
