Male Smew under Willows

This wasn't the shot I'd planned to use but really, that colour...

The male smew (I think it's a smew) is a nice enough bird, but the water was beautifully lit by the spring sunshine reflecting off the bank of willow trees. That it's such a monochrome bird perhaps accentuates the background.

The smew (mergus albellus) isn't really a UK bird, so I might be mistaken.
