Spring
It's that time of year. The clocks go forward and the evenings begin to stretch out. The anemones burst out at last over the slope. So I’m not quite sure how we managed to fit in two films. Probably because the rain started and it felt a Sunday kind of thing to do.
Neither film was that great. Alice, Darling which we were sucked into by that bloody Guardian. “A chilling little film” it said. Bollocks. The three women friends were totally unconvincing from the off. The punters on IMDB were nearer the mark. 5.5 out of 10.
Then Subject which promised great things - a documentary about making documentary films. Y’know the ethics of the business. Makes you realise how good it is to have a Schama or an Attenborough or Jeremy Bowen or even old John SImpson. Someone as a guide. An intelligence. Honestly, what's a man to do?
