Bad News - Long Walk

Bad news comes when you least expect it and mine arrived when I made my weekly visit to friends Richard and Jackie. Even when you know bad news might not be far away human nature means we live with hope.
I set off with Paddy for a five miler, clear the head, fresh air and away from tech for an hour or two.

Tregoniggie Woodland was once an area of open fields and hedgerows surrounding Tregoniggie Farm, records first mention the farm, then called ‘Trenernegy’, in 1316.
The buildings were demolished after they were sold in 1966 followed in the early 70's by the building of an industrial estate and later housing. The woodland area was preserved and planted with many trees, and known locally as the Greenbelt.
Bickland stream flows through the valley and empties into Swanpool beyond and woodland is still crossed by an ancient track that once led to Tregoniggie farm and on to Budock Church.
Paddy enjoys his infrequent visits to the woods even though he remains on the lead until we are clear of the stream. It’s also the walking route to his vets practise but he doesn’t seem to mind.

Home for a subdued evening but life will pick up again tomorrow.
