Primrose path
I found several builders bags of wood chippings available on the allotment car park (since the visit of the FEDAGA shredder on Saturday) - we'd contributed a lot of manky old bean poles, so I helped myself to a small bagful and dragged it along the track to ours. Spread it, rather untidily, along the back path. And there really are primroses!
I think the usual meaning of the primrose path is that it is full of pleasure but leads to destruction. In this case it merely leads to the bird feeders.
