Hinton Ampner

We visited this National Trust house with George and Ann. It was a lovely day and although some parts of the gardens were closed we had a very enjoyable visit.

The Saxon All Saints church at Hinton Ampner dates from the 13th century but has been rebuilt in the 13th century and again in the 19th. I was attracted by the wooden church tower which seems to have been taken over by nesting jackdaws at the moment. I also liked the magnificent tree full of mistletoe.

After lunch at a nearby garden centre we packed up our stuff and left New Alresford for a short journey to Lyndhurst in the New Forest where we're staying for a couple of nights. Unfortunately something was left behind. It was my camera, hence the necessity to post this a day late.
