The Business End...
... of a 1930 4 1/2 litre Supercharged Bentley.
It was a very wet day. Ann had kindly arranged to meet us at Mottisfont, another National Trust house, to hand over the camera I left behind. It's an interesting house, originally an abbey. Also interesting is the fact that they had an exhibition of Norman Thelwell's work. He's best known for his horse and pony cartoons and there was a good display of them but there was a lot of his other work too. They all seemed to me to have life in them, as his cartoons do.
With the continuing rain we decided to go to Beaulieu and mooch around the memories. We also went to see the Secret Army exhibition. Beaulieu was a top secret ‘finishing school’ for secret agents in World War Two and over 3,000 Special Operations Executive (SOE) agents were trained at Beaulieu, before being sent on dangerous missions behind enemy lines.
I've added an extra of a Ford Escort RS1800 driven by Ari Vatanen in his world rally championship winning year, 1981.
