Acts of deliberate notice

Joys to come

In the Victorian language of flowers, a celandine represents "joys to come" - very appropriate for this early Spring flower.

On my walk today I spotted, in amongst a patch of bright yellow celandines, this white one. It seems to be part of the same plant. Some mutation in its genes or something in its growing conditions has made it come out white.

White for purity? Mourning? Holiness? Victorians, what would you make of this?
