Signs of things to come

This is not some bizarre sort of graveyard. These tiny cardboard markers came, strangely enough, from Metro bank as a free gift. Each one has a little cluster of alpine strawberry seeds on the pointed end. I have been promised that, giving them soil and water, they will start to germinate in 10-14 days. Let's see if the middle of April brings new life to my kitchen windowsill.

(Yesterday I also planted up cuttings from our Swedish ivy plants which are beginning to get a little unruly. They are also sitting on our kitchen windowsill, just waiting to check they take before moving them to a new home... somewhere...)
