It got better as the day went on.
A rubbish morning as we tried to deal with yesterday’s bank on line. B transferred some money from his account to our general one with the main bank. When I tried to do the same thing from my account it blocked it. I then spent 31minutes 58seconds on the phone trying to sort out the problem. I only know the length of time of the call as it was on the land line phone and I spent a lot of time looking at it !!!
I hung on for ages, then spoke to a lady to answer numerous questions. I was then put through to the fraud department to be asked the same set of questions by a man. We will know by tomorrow evening if the account has been unblocked.
I think that the days of keeping your savings in a box under the bed were much easier. And maybe just as safe with the risk of online fraud these days.
The plan was to attend a lecture at Lincoln Uni this evening and it took some effort to summon the energy to go out. But we did and it was brilliant. Professor Donald Kurtz presented ‘Between Fire and Ice: The Earth’s Special Place’. We normally see him on line from South Africa, but he was in person in Lincoln tonight. The blip is a picture from a 4 minute film clip of Jupiter. The background music was by Vangelis. Absolutely incredible. This lecture will be on YouTube at some point in time. It was well attended with wide rang of ages.
As we were out from 5pm until 7.30, dinner was collected from the chippie on the way home. A large fish supper was more than sufficient to feed both of us, with a a few chips for Amber.
