Phillip Island
We’re on the way home but on the way, we spent the morning on Phillip Island which is famous for scenery, penguins and motorbikes.
The weather was appalling so the extra was the best scenery shot I could do - the MotoGP Grand Prix circuit with Bass Strait in the background.
We struck out on the penguins (wrong time of day) but the visit was saved by the bikes although isbi considered the time better spent reading a couple of chapters of her book.
There were plenty of great machines in the museum, mainly GP bikes from the 80s and 90s plus a few cars but the 2 in the main blip caught my eye. In front is a 1946 350cc single cylinder Royal Enfield. If the other one doesn’t excite you, well maybe motorcycles just aren’t your thing. It’s the classic 1961 twin cylinder SS650 Norton.
