River Otter floodplain
It was a lovely sunny start to the day so after a quick breakfast my husband and I went for a walk along the river otter and then back inland across to the coastal path. This view shows the flooded waters before the river otter which is behind the tree line. As we approached the river we say preparations for a run and a couple of runners approached running along the riverside. We saw then at various points on the walk, it was a marathon starting in Exmouth and running up the river and back and then along the coastal path to Axmouth. Quite a hilly route I imagine.
We didn't see that much wildlife other than a swan on its nest close to white bridge and others in the flooded water. We did however hear many skylarks as we walked back along the coast. A lovely walk.
A relaxed afternoon followed by a short amount of weeding on the allotment.
