Not quite pigeon post

This collared dove is my entry for today's Mono Monday challenge with a tenuous link to pigeon post as a nod to the theme of 'communication'. I'm not at all sure that it qualifies, but it is in mono. The strong shadows create an illusion of banded markings to its feathers.

A second before I took this shot, it was side by side with its partner, gently canoodling, but I was too slow to catch the romance. I expect they'll be back.

Thank you so much for your kind words yesterday. Happy to say my migraine had gone by morning and I've spent the day with the children with no ill-effects. (At least, not for now. They all have colds again, and I've only just got over the last one I caught off them. These little ones are proper little germ bags! But oh so sweet with it!) Mrs B and I mowed her lawn between us for the first time this year.
