Umbrella Day
What a difference a day makes. Gone are the blue skies, the chirping birds and the bursting buds, in is the grey sky, the rain and the mist hung low on the moors.
It would have been totally depressing had it not been for a visit by the erstwhile blipper, MsGable who drove over the moors to spend the morning drinking coffee with me while Lucy and Ewan got the train to Leeds. We haven’t met since we were both in Shetland during Wool Week in 2019 and so we had much to catch up on despite the efforts of Corky who was not on his best behaviour. He seems to be missing his usual routine and is not used to being in the house with people during the day when he could be at doggy kindergarten.
It’s such a pity it’s so wet and unpleasant as we had a plan to maybe take the train to Ilkley, this afternoon and look round the town. Instead, Ewan and I are hunkered up with books and craft material while poor Lucy is having to take Corky for a long walk up on the moors.
