Bronze

I read on the local online newspaper that a new bronze statue had been installed in our local village so today we went to have a look. It’s a bronze of a fisherman, very appropriate as the village has a harbour where today we counted seven fishing boats, more than we had ever see before. It looks very striking and a fine monument along the promenade.
I also counted 13 camper vans in the local car park. I expect there are even more now. They are being stopped from parking in the capital and main port of the island. The children have broken up from school and both Thursday and Friday are bank holidays here.
