Compost-mania

A busy morning along at the Saughton Allotment site - today was the day for the 'annual turning ' of our two large compost bays ;-)

... each year we 'switch' the material from one bay to the other; close-up one bay with a top-cover; and use the other for the subsequent year: keeps the 'composting process ' moving along, and always leads to a huge amount of material being available to dig into our beds - all just prior to the few weeks when most of our planting is undertaken. Bumper crops are now all but guaranteed!

After such an enjoyable morning of compost-mania, subsequently stuck indoors for a long series of afternoon, and evening, back-to-back meetings  :-(
